The essence of the hard problem, metaphorically, is that the natural sciences postulate an "alphabet of being" which is manifestly insufficient to "spell out" consciousness, no matter how you stack up the ontological primitives it contains. Nog för att det skulle behövas... Min tro är dock alltså att vi - som av en meta-filosofisk nödvändighet - aldrig kommer att kunna inta ett sådant perspektiv. Men Dennet säger det bättre.
